Jacob David Smith is an award-winning writer and director, from Des Moines, Iowa and Chicago, Illinois. He studied film and playwriting at the University of Iowa, and graduated from Cornell College with honors in playwriting. His plays have been produced across the country, and has created multiple award-winning films. Jacob works in development with Hold for Plane Pictures and Marasco Media, and was formerly Artistic Director of L.A. based, 99-seat theater, Theatre Unleashed. An advocate for Autism awareness, Smith teaches acting-for-social-skills classes for young people on the Autism spectrum. As well as a film class for autistic students at a vocational academy. Smith has been working closely with the autism community since 2013.
