We Own This City is for mature audiences first and foremost for its themes. It's a show about corruption that winds its way through police brutality up into the drug crisis, gun violence, and mass incarceration. The show's subject matter isn't light in the slightest and it takes a hard look at the mechanisms of policing, government oversight, and the justice system.
