Around the middle of the series, there's a gory sequence in similar vein to Saving Private Ryan, with guts showing for a few seconds. Another similar scene near the end, but it's more brief.

Both major and minor cast members die throughout the series. In some ways, it rivals Game of Thrones in how mercilessly it can take out its cast. Most of them die in a bloody, sometimes gory, fashion.
