An early scene at a prison shows vultures picking at almost totally rotted corpses of prisoners in hanging cages.

We hear a young woman screaming from a distance and find out soon after that she was murdered.

A man is impaled on spikes on the back of a door. A woman is chased with a cleaver. A woman is bound and gagged and threatened to be eaten. A woman hits a man in the face and crotch with a broom, knocking the man out a window. A man is punched in the face. A man is whipped as punishment; we hear him screaming in pain. People are beaten as they are rounded up by troll soldiers. Bloody dead animals are seen hanging from a tree in traps. People are shot to death with arrows, including a child. Dead people are shown in the streets, killed in war. A man holds up a severed head. A woman is knocked to the ground and kicked. A man is stabbed in the neck.

"God," "hell," and "damn" are used as curse words. Characters use the phrase "Suck an elf" as an expletive. The word "a__" is used to refer to a person's backside. "B___h" is used as a pun to refer to a female dog or a woman. Wolf tell girl she has SUCCULENT BREASTS. Girl is chained to a chair where the trolls have tattooed (branded) her stomach: "Troll Toy" as they are about to suck on her feet and spitting water on her white tank top.

Trolls talk about smoking "dwarf moss." A man smokes a cigar. A man has cocktails in a bar.

Although the miniseries is mostly played for laughs, characters are often in threatening situations (being chased, beaten up, threatened with weapons, etc.) involving mythical characters, such as grotesque-looking trolls. A woman is threatened with torture to make her talk. A man turns into a wolf. A decaying corpse moves and speaks. A person tries to kill someone else by drowning.
