Main poster for series is deceptive as no real romance develops between Jo and Nick. It is implied that merchant marine Nick turns back on his way to his Boston ship in Season 1, Episode 3 due to his interest in Jo. But, besides the occasional platonic shoulder pat, they are allowed one kiss the whole series--Season 2, Episode 9. There is some teasing around a so-called "courtship," but this never is developed.
