None. There are several relationships mentioned or depicted but nothing sexually explicit. The triangle relationships are still intact from the first film, but some new ones are seen in the series. Occasional flirting occurs between troopers.

Although it is a series based on a wartime story, the violence and gore is tamed down considerably from its live-action film incarnation. Bugs are usually seen shot dead onscreen. Other times, the bugs are seen blown to pieces by rockets, missiles and grenades, sometimes stunned by tasers or sometimes fatally electrocuted. Troopers are sometimes seen knocked down by bugs but never killed. Injuries to troopers are generally light. Any trooper deaths have generally been offscreen.

None. Generally at times when viewers might expect profanity, there was always alternative phrases and acronyms used to express displeasure between characters. Most of which were never elaborated on and left to the imagination of the meaning.

As drugs and alcohol is not generally accepted in the military, this series follows that practice. The only drugs used were tranquilizers for captured bugs or sedatives for injured troopers.

Despite being a weekly television series aimed at younger viewers, Roughnecks depicts a world of intense scenarios. Danger is present throughout every mission and planet Troopers have been deployed. Bugs grow increasingly more intelligent which increases the level of danger they pose to their enemies. RSTC accomplishes a decent task in replicating most of the intensity of its live-action screen brethren.

Pretty violent for a family series.
