In the pilot episode Reba learns that Cheyenne (her 17 year old daughter) has had sex with her boyfriend, and is now pregnant.

Van comes home drunk, takes off his clothes (shirt and pants), and almost gets into bed with Reba

The most violence in this show is usually slapstick, though it's mentioned that Kyra punched a girl in the face.

Reba and Barbra Jean spar in a self-defense class, along with Cheyenne and Kyra.

In one episode Reba takes an alcoholic pill, and becomes violently ill after drinking alcohol.

Van electrocutes himself in one episode while trying to fix a heater.

Cursing is rare in this series. Reba sometimes says "crap", and tends to call people "moron" or "butt" (mostly Barbra Jean or Brock).

Mild profanities such as "damn", "hell", "slut" and "ass" are sometimes used. Kyra calls Barbra Jean's sister a "bitch" in one episode.

In one episode, Reba accidently takes one of Cheyenne's anti-drinking pills, which makes the person who takes it sick it they drink alcohol. So as a cover-up, Van drinks all of Reba's drinks to avoid making her sick, Van later becomes drunk. This scene is mainly played for laughs.

Van, Reba and Barbra Jean occasionally drink alcohol, Brock reveals that because of the trouble the divorce has caused he drinks.

One episode focuses on Cheyenne being an alcoholic, and she later smokes cigarettes.

Brock reveals that he used to smoke cigarettes before Cheyenne was born.

Throughout the series, there are some later episodes that focus on some intense and more serious issues. These scenes may be a little intense for younger viewers.

In one episode, Cheyenne tells Reba her life has been terrible for two years and breaks down crying after she realizes she's an alcoholic.
