The Nerd frequently flips off anything that makes him angry.
The most frequent words used in the series are "Fuck", "Shit", "Ass", "Asshole", "Dick" and "Piss".
The theme song used in earlier episodes contains the lines: "He's gonna take you back to the past - To play some shitty games that suck ass," then "He'd rather have - A buffalo - Take a diarrhea dump in his ear" (more potty-mouth than profane), followed by "He'd rather eat - The rotten asshole - Of a roadkill skunk and down it with beer."
Through out the years when James Rolfe (The Actor Who plays the angry video game nerd.) makes behind the scenes of how AVGN episodes are made on his YouTube channel. He always says that the strong profanity is like a traditional trade mark for the character. He says that if it's something that the fans like and find funny. Then he said that he has to keep it up on a daily bases. Keep in mind, James Rolfe was in his 20s when the show began.
Words occasionally used include "Cunt", "Tits", "Jizz", "Damn" and "Bastard". No slurs are used in the series but some earlier episodes did have the word "retarded" in them, but this was because those episodes were products of their time and was a commonplace word.
In the "Amiga CD32" episode, he uses "Bloody", "Wank", "Bollocks" and "Arse" in one scene in an attempt to try and adapt his swears (as Commodore is a British company).
