In the pilot a teen girl speaks disparagingly about her own virginity. Two teens are said to be engaging in sexual intercourse (not depicted).

In at least one of the episodes, a married man and woman are shown in bed together and discuss having just had sex; the man is shown shirtless. This couple and at least two others kiss throughout the series. An unmarried man and woman are shown in bed together as well.

Lots of violence throughout the 20 episodes; some of it involving unusual deaths. People are shot, strangled, and killed by blunt force. In several scenes pools of blood are visible beneath victims, but generally without other gore or visible entrance wounds. Victims of violence both by criminals and the protagonists are sometimes depicted in severe pain.

In the pilot: "God" is uttered 6 times, there are 2 instances of "hell," 1 of "crap," 1 of "a**," and 1 of "bitch." That's pretty representative of the cursing and crass language found in most episodes, although not a complete list (e.g., "damn," "piss," and other words are also used).

A boy is wrongly accused of doing drugs in one episode. Someone is forced to take an overdose of prescription medicine. Cigarette smoking is shown in a couple of scenes; not often. Social drinking is depicted several times. On one occasion a teen under the legal age starts to consume a drink but is prevented from doing so.

There are a couple of scenes of strong grieving for lost loved ones.

People get chased, injured, and killed, with occasional blood. Some of the peril might scare children under 10, and even be a little intense for slightly older ones.
