The first season contains a storyline in which a man dies in the bed of a woman who was not his wife. His body is carried away and those responsible for concealing the circumstances behind his death are not apprehended. The details of this incident recur in later episodes.

A man tries to kiss another man while he is asleep. The sleeping character awakens and berates the other for their improper behaviour.

One character is revealed to be a prostitute, and there is discussion of the topic, however, visuals of her exploits are not depicted onscreen.

Season 2 is set during World War I and features soldiers getting shot, explosions and dead bodies.

We are shown the aftermaths of a suicide. The man who killed himself appears to have sliced his wrists and is shown in bed with his forearms dripping of blood forming a puddle on the floor.

Contains infrequent moments of moderate violence, often in the form of hand-to-hand combat and war violence. Acts of violence are not depicted with any particular detail, and emphasis on pain or injury is infrequent.

References to this incident are alluded to throughout the remainder of the series.

A man rapes and abuses a woman. We see him attempting to kiss her and then punching her in the face and dragging her by the hair. The actual rape is not shown on screen but we hear her crying and screaming, begging the man to stop. She is then shown in severe distress with bruises on her face and torn clothing. Not graphic but very shocking and upsetting. May be triggering.
