In the year 2165, teleportation has replaced all forms of long-distance travel. The commercial airline industry has been put out of business by this new technology. People believe that their molecules are being deconstructed at the Departure Terminal and reconstructed at their Arrival Terminal. The truth of the matter is much more cynical.
