There is a theme of sexual violence which is sustained throughout the film, this includes frequent verbal references to sexual violence and brief visual instances during flashbacks. Visual instances include brief shots of the victims arm's and legs being bound prior to the attack, and sight of the terrified and distressed victims attempting to flee. The victims are also established to be underage within the context of where the film is set.

It is mentioned that the girls were gangraped and hanged. Nothing of the actual rape is shown however, and details of the rape itself are established through discussion alone.
