The Shepard tone is made of several octaves that move up or down in pitch. This visualization features the descending Shepard tone. Conceived by Roger Shepard this sound creates the psychoacoustic effect of a pitch that is continuously rising or falling. The descending tone is said to create a sensation of falling or increased gravity.
