The movie is a poignant satire on chauvinism and machoism. Sex is a major motif in the movie, usually its negative sides are presented. Among the topics the movie deals with: romantic and sexual infidelity, sexual frustration and sexual violence.

Much of the film takes place at sea. Swimwear, more or less revealing, is displayed throughout.

Here and there are mild to moderate manifestations of violence in the form of brawls and taunts. Nothing gory.

As mentioned, there are manifestations of sexual violence.

One of the main characters is an alcoholic, and other characters are shown smoking and drinking as well.

There is a pretty intense sexual assault scene, interrupted almost at the last minute. Particularly sensitive viewers may be affected.
