A man is beheaded suddenly while he is talking mid sentence, and his severed head speaks one more word finishing the sentence after his head rolls to the ground. Quite unsettling.

Aguirre, the main character, is on the brink of madness throughout the entire film. His appearance on screen brings intensity, but ties the whole thing together.
