The film deals with the sexual experiences and fantasies of a young woman, and has nudity. The movie belongs to a period that witnessed a marked change in attitudes to sexuality, depicting people with both very conservative and very relaxed views. The lead female struggles between the two attitudes.

A man rapes a woman who has hitched a ride with him. A man punches another beats him up. It's supposed to be serious, but looks completely fake--almost comic. A man wielding a knife binds a woman to a bed, and rips her clothes off with the knife.

The lead female is running from a man who seems to be a dangerous sociopath. Especially in the later part, there are intense and frightening scenes where she is hiding/running from the man who is persistently behind her.

In her imaginations, a woman finds herself in really perilous situations.
