Leave 'em Laughing (1981)

Mickey Rooney plays real-life clown Jack Thum. Thum and his wife cared for dozens of unwanted children. When Thum realizes he has terminal cancer, he falls apart and his wife must help him regain his innerstrength and deal with reality.
