The main characters are involved in the Prohibition business, so pretty much all of the drinking is illegal.

All violent scenes are realistically graphic, and the rape scenes are very disturbing.

Besides the violence and the intense scenes, this is a very melancholic and emotional film from beginning to end.

A teenage prostitute is seen having sex with an older man, but no nudity from her, just the man's bare butt.

Altough the movie has some comedic/darkly comedic elements, it's overall very upsetting.

Some scenes are hard to watch, since the camera usually doesn't shy away from the graphic violence and sexual assault.

This movie is a gritty and dark take on the gangster genre. Much more brutal than something like The Godfather.

This is one of the most depressing gangster movies ever made, with little to no mob glorification whatsoever, unlike Godfather or Scarface.

There are no morally good characters in this movie.
