Even though this is a G rated movie, it is infamous for the frightening themes, mostly the scenes that feature the malevolent Dark Heart. Luckily these elements weren't used in latter Care Bears media. Think twice before allowing your small children of watching it.

Scenes, where Dark Heart's eyes glowing pierce red, saying "NO! GET AWAY FROM ME!" in such an evil, scary voice, and where the Care Bears get turned into crystals, can be a little too frightening for smaller children.

The scene where Christy dies could be pretty emotional.
