Documents a relief mural created by world-famous brick sculptor Jay Tschetter. The 16 foot high, 60 foot long mural depicting the History of Western Photography was commissioned in 1992 by the National Park Service to grace the entrance to the new 4-story high World Odyssey Imax Theatre at the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. The work comprised of over 2000 custom milled and hand carved multi-colored bricks was almost two years in the making. The mural visually expresses the record of western settlement as seen through the eyes of 1800's photography.
