It is made as slightly comedic reference to the old school '80s films (i.e. Breakin') and "dance" flicks like Step Up. with an "electro" soundtrack and uses of pagers as well as terms like "whack" and "radical" it really is nostalgic. however there is literally non-stop profanity and one character is shown to be sexually abused by her father and boyfriend which may upset some viewers.
