This is a documentary about Eugene Cernan, the third man to walk in space and one of only three people to go to the Moon twice. An American astronaut during the most exciting and dangerous decade of space flight, Cernans career spanned the entire Gemini and Apollo space programs. He is also famously known to have left man's last footprint on the Moon as the commander of Apollo 17. Cernan shares his fears, love and the sacrifice he had to make to be part of space-travel history.
The film contains a black-and-white sequence showing two planes ending disastrously while landing on an air-craft carrier - one skids and plunges into the sea while the other crashes, bursting into flames.
