"I'd Rather Not" is a surreal comedy short film based on the 1853 short story "Bartleby" by Herman Melville. The film explores the absurdity and anxiety of contemporary macho-office life where a young woman decides that rather than carry out infinite streams of bureaucratic babble for a boss who treats her like a piece of meat, she would rather not work at all.
