Only a few of the deaths in the film are bloody, and the majority of on-screen deaths are bloodless or obscured.

As this is a mafia film, there are many curse words of varying levels of obscenity from several main characters. There are well over one hundred fucks, roughly thirty shits, many uses of damn, ass, and dick. Also occasional uses of ethnic slurs, primarily pikey and guinea. Also, several foreign curse words, including seven uses of "cazzo".

The plot revolves around a botched drug deal, and cocaine is seen and referenced many times. However, the film is very anti-drug, and no favoritism is given to any characters who deal with narcotics. The characters are not good people.

Emilio and Cosgrave are both seen briefly smoking.

Franky drinks some wine, and the Don pours himself some champagne. Tommy is briefly seen drinking some sort of hard liquor. Not prevalent.
