Curt Coekaerts

Curt Coekaerts was born in Beveren-Waas, Flanders, Belgium, to Jackie Coekaerts and Elisa Cap on July 11th 1971. He attended school in Beveren until the age of 18. He then went to Antwerp and studied "Communications and Audio Visual Techniques", for which he obtained a bachelor degree. Curt started to tell stories at a very young age. At twelve years old, he and some friends started drawing small comic books. This evolved into recording home made radio plays using cassette players, a small mixing desk and some cheap microphones. By the age of fifteen, Curt and friends decided it was time to expand these radio plays. They wanted to make movies, but since film cameras were too expensive at that time, slide shows accompanied by an audio track were cheaper and easier to produce. They made several comedy/horror shows and a couple of science fiction shows. Curt was a big Star Trek/Star Wars fan as were most of his friends. Three years later, they got their hands on a beta-max video camera and their journey into movie-making started. In his twenties, Curt recorded some music. He created a small studio project called "Joshua & Excallibur" with which he made experimental dance music. But the movie making bug kept biting and he returned to his passion: movie making, screen-writing and visual effects. He runs his own company, located in Beveren-Waas, Belgium, called The HeadQuarters VFX. The HeadQuarters VFX is specialized in movie editing, video compositing, visual effects, 3D modeling and animation, graphical design and media duplication. He also is a founding member of Pixure Center Of Creativity vzw, a production company located in Beveren, Belgium.
