Adam is a composer, producer, and artist whose work has been presented at LACMA, MoMA, and the Walker Art Center. Adam is composer for "The Code" (2019) on CBS. Adam produced Andrew Bird's "Echolocations: River" album (2018), and art directed the live visuals for the corresponding tour. Adam has worked closely with directors Christopher Wilcha (Emmy award winner for Showtime's "This American Life"), Lauren Greenfield, and Patrik-Ian Polk. He has also composed for Visa, Hyundai, and Canon, among others. A Tig Notaro Showtime documentary, "Knock, Knock, It's Tig Notaro," featuring his score premiered at SXSW in March 2015. In 2017 he received a grant to complete a project in Dunedin, New Zealand, collaborating with legendary underground musicians Alastair Galbraith, Martin Phillips of the Chills, Francesca Griffin of Look Blue Go Purple, and local high school students.
Adam was also songwriter and producer for the band Fol Chen (Asthmatic Kitty Records), whose three albums of fractured electronic pop earned praise from the New York Times, NME, Wired, and Pitchfork, as well as from the godfather of experimental pop music, David Byrne. Adam has remixed David Bowie and legendary club producer Junior Vasquez, and covered Prince for SPIN's "Purplish Rain" compilation. Fol Chen performed live on four continents and on-air at KCRW, KEXP, the BBC, and Dublab, and their songs can be heard in Weeds (Showtime), CSI:NY (CBS), The Mindy Project (FOX), This American Life (Showtime), One Nation Under Dog (HBO), and Elementary (CBS). He also performed as touring guitarist in art rock band Liars on their 2008 tour opening for Radiohead.
