Composer, songwriter ("Dearie"), playwright Plays: "and author, educated at the Packer Institute and in private music study. She wrote the Broadway stage scores for "90 in the Shade", "One Kiss", "Annie Dear", "Madame Pompadour", and "The Three Waltzes". Joining ASCAP in 1934, her chief musical collaborators included Sigmund Romberg and Jerome Kern, and her other popular-song compositions include "Egypt", "Other Eyes", "Blushing June Roses", "Somebody's Eyes", "Thro' All the World", "Only With You", "The Bluebird", "Garden of Dreams", "Sunset", "The Road to Yesterday", "Today", and "Lover of Mine".
